The Grill Club's next event will be of particular interest to those with City of London interests as the "people who matter" who are to be "put to the flame" are none other than Michael and Elisabeth Mainelli, Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress in 2023-24. Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli served as the 695th Lord Mayor of the City of London for the 2023–2024 term focusing on the theme "Connect to Prosper". As Lady Mayoress, Elisabeth actively supported philanthropic initiatives, including the Lord Mayor's Appeal and efforts to combat violence against women and girls. She was actively involved in events like the IoD Glass Ceiling NatWest Women Entrepreneurs Summit, focusing on empowering women.
